Texas Typography

October 4, 2017

Starting a new campaign is always exciting, but it can be very stressful when you are on a time crunch. Within a couple of days, I cranked out this graphic campaign for the Texas Annual Conference because we needed to publish appeals for aid.

Our Hurricane Harvey relief  initiative is called Texas Recovers. It needed to be bold and strong like our state. We know that this program will be continuing over three or more years.

I started off with a Photoshop sketch, and then moved into Adobe Illustrator to create the paths. I don't actually work in Illustrator as much as I would like to, so this was a great opportunity to pick up a few new skills.

Now this type is going to be used on web banners, advertisements, and so much more. I love the simplicity of it, and my favorite part is that the hurricane symbol helps tell the story if you come across the graphic without any context.

I got excited when the United Methodist Church's social media picked up my giving graphic in their tweet!
